"Ok glad you all are here. This is going to be a recon mission to Chai. As you may or may not know Mosby's ship crashed there a few years back. The wreckage is still there and is believed to hold some technology. I must be honest this is personal for me....My Dayna was held in a Goauld Sarcophagus for many years when it was believed she was dead. Those things are only meant to heal anf for short term. We need to see how he was able to hold someone in one of those things for as long as he did. I think the ship has some answers. I'll bring it up on the view screen."
*brings all the pictures up and points to what he is referring to.
"Chai...there is not much there in the way of settlements. The area we are going to is forest area. The gate is here and the ship is here....so it's a good walk from one to the other but the terrain is fairly flat. Currently there are a few probes from the Qualinar Stealth doing recon and when we dial up the gate address we can retrieve date to make sure the air is still safe...so...pack your gear we leave in the morning. We will take a MALP (Mobile Analytic Laboratory Probe) so we can stow our gear on that."
*looks around

"There has been no indication that there is anything harmful to humans on board. The vegetation around the ship has almost covered it and it seems as healthy as anything else around the area...might be a good idea to outfit the MALP with sensors that could tell us of anything harmful. Good question."

That's all well and good Danek, but the Professor still has orders from the EMH to take it easy from all he has been through these last couple of months. I know he isn't the first choice but maybe Mordecai just needs a little trust and a fair shake to become his best self. Perhaps he is trying to do just that with volunteering to go on the mission?

My thoughts, if a botanist is required, I agree it should be Prof Scifire, Nigel is right and he is under medical care. I am not thrilled Bixby has shown up for this mission, but his presence does present a couple of opportunities: 1. If a botanist is required, he is one 2. Its basically a "safe" first mission 3. If he goes and misbehaves, and / or does not listen and / or does not co-operate, he will never go on another stargate mission. In other words, if he goes this is a test for him, and its pass or fail.
Nigel, you may have a point, but we can never know what is in his head.
These are my thoughts, but it is still up to you Major and your team. |

If I have learned anything from working with the children of the Academy, patience is a constant process and understanding is a must.
With that being said, I would be willing to give Bixby a chance to possibly show us his patience and understanding of us.
