“Alright the initial scans of the planet only confirm what we have in the data base. Scattered settlements here and there.”
*zooms in to the gate area
“Now as you can see the area surrounding the Stargate is clear and it appears that there is not much traffic….note the absence of foot paths or roads.”
*zooms out and closes in on the wreckage.
“This is what is left of Mosby’s ship…the vegetation has taken over a lot so there may be some work to do in order to gain access…while it will most likely never fly again it does appear to be in one piece.”
*zooms out to a wider view and points to the locations
“The Stargate is here….and the ship is here….It’s about 5 clicks between the two. My suggestion is to travel there via the gate and trek to the ship. In the mean time I have launched a few micro probes that are currently down on the surface. We can retrieve the data from them when we dial Chai and make the connection.”

I do like that Idea, as it is an intrusion to the that environment, BUT, until I know its absolutely safe, it might be best to destroy it in space, by sending it into the local sun.
