Waking up and feeling the Drifter, she gives him a gentle petting on his head and shoulders, and rolling over to the side.
Goodness, I needed that sleep.
Tasting her mouth.
I need to brush my teeth, I know you don't really need sleep Drifter, but did you "rest"?
Picking up Drifter, and setting him on the edge of the sink, and brushing her teeth, and undressing, stepping into the shower for a nice long hot shower, thankful for the water recycler, and stands there, grateful for the hot water on her shoulders. Stepping out, she realizes its been a long time since she had a swim and heads to pool in her quarters, with Drifter flying behind her, once there, she swims until she is exhausted, the Difter sitting in a near by tree, and although she wanted to get dressed in a fresh clean uniform, she goes back to bed, and drifts off back to sleep, with the Drifter, snuggling back into her neck.

( A few hours later, Captain Thomas feels a presence around her that causes her to wake. Not the Drifter, she recognizes that. Another presence not familiar yet it is familiar. One that spoke to her just hours before. One that told her the Colonists issues that have fallen into her hands will have answers once they reach Twilight and eliminate the current Drej threat. She then hears it speak...)
Soon....soon....Soooooooon.
(Then it is gone)

Well Lieutenant, welcome back among the living. You are in the Medical Bay aboard the S.S.Drifter. Captain Thomas saved your life. I gather you had quite the ordeal kidnapped by the Drej and the subsequent adventure.
Can you remain calm or shall I put you in restraints? I don't want to put you on another sedative if I don't have too. We need you coherent so I can run further tests.

Dude, your loss. ... makes his way to galley. :evil mmmm ...goes through the fridge, freezer piling it high on the counter.... heater where are you? ....eating defrosted brownies, cake... yum stew. more cake. oh cookies yummmm cheesy chicken coookies beef burgers yumm
...yawns with a full belly and lots of empty containers. finds the public lounge to lay down to sleep...

Waking up after that 'dream', but somehow that wasn't a dream, it almost feels like an Ancient.
Time to get up, they should be near Twilight.
Morning Drifter,
Lifting the birdie up to the head board, and getting a quick shower and fresh clean uniform.
Time to grab a bite to eat.
Lifting the Drifter back onto her shoulder.
Sarrin, how close are we to Twilight?
Walking down to the kitchen, and stopping dead in her tracks in the open door way.
What the hell?
She is not cleaning up this mess!
Getting some breakfast for herself, around the mess.

We are 2 hours and 3 minutes from Twilight Captain.
Captain, I have been busy working through my data base to fully understand what you have walked into. My only reference to this is early Earth college men living in a "FRAT" house. Does this describe best what has occurred?

Turn us all into Drej? That's a bit of a stretch isn't it? You could be suffering from space rapture. Alright Lieutenant, I need you to not only be calm, but think about this. If they were keeping your wife as a bargaining chip, they are still using her in that manner. I'm willing to bet she is alright. They won't harm her since they haven't gotten what they are after. Doesn't that sound reasonable? Your bio readings are coming back normal thank goodness. Lieutenant, I did find a trace of a blue substance in your lungs. Its most definitely alien. I am still analyzing it. I hope to have an answer on its properties and what it does very soon. |

Lt. Kendall: Calmly, yes Doctor I'll be calm. (Looks at the Captain) Captain Thomas, while my wife and I were on holiday on Talusia, she was kidnapped. I believe it was Braxxul who handed her over to the Drej. I managed to get aboard a shuttle that was conveniently left by its owner one day. I took it out to search the Colony for signs of Braxxul and my dear wife Daphne and it was then caught in a tractor beam of a Drej craft. Little did I know that they were hoping to take me as well. Daphne was being held in some type of stasis chamber and threatened to turn her into one of their minions if I didn't help them get into Solaris. Ma'am, they threw everything they had at me but I didn't give in. I did not betray you or Solaris Humanus. I would never do that. (Breaks out in tears)

Alright Lieutenant, your levels are rising again. I'm going to give you something to help keep you just a bit calmer.
(As the EMH adds a syringe full of Oxtalis to the Lieutenants liquids that are helping to keep him hydrated, he explains to the Captain)
I may have to keep him on this small dosage for a while till we can level him out. He has these swings from calm to highly agitated on a very regular basis. Its no unusual at all for someone who has been through what he as to have this condition.
There you are Lieutenant. You fell better momentarily.

Lt. Kendall: (Catches his breath) That is better Doctor, thank you. Captain, as I was saying, they have some type of process now that turns us into them. I don't know if its just humans or other aliens too, but they are creating more Drej. They knew they couldn't get to us on Solaris so they tried to get me to give them security codes to not only deactivate the cloaking shield over Solaris, but all access to everything in Solaris as well. I am sure the codes were changed as protocol dictates when a member with access has been kidnapped or put under duress. But they didn't know that. But I assume they suspected it since they took me and their fight to Talusia in order to get to you. (lies back down, laying his arm over his forehead) They are truly the scourge of the Universe Captain. They have to be stopped. Have...to be...stopped... (He falls asleep)

Thank goodness, (then looks over at the Captain) that's the first real sleep he has gotten since we got him back. I think a decent few hours or more of sleep will do him a galaxy of good.
I know you have many questions. Would you like to ask or shall I just go into my report on what I have observed and found first?

Very well. As you know, when the Lieutenant was recovered and brought to Med Bay, he was in a very shattered and delicate state. Needless to say, I am sure we all thought he was "taken over" by the Drej. He showed signs of delirium and panic. Not unusual for what he had already endured. The medical data base has reference's as to what to look for in a patient that has delt with the Drej in such fashion. IE the medical entries Dr. Sharrel Eiluned has entered into the data base concerning her dealings with such matters over the years.
I don't believe that Lieutenant Kendall is experiencing any signs of those symptoms per say, but he is reliving a nightmare of his wife being abducted and his trek to save her from her captors.
His vitals are quickly returning to normal except when his wife comes to mind or he discusses her for the obvious reasons. No Captain, I do not believe this man is suffering from the so called "sickness" the Drej have been known for inflicting upon their victims. He is merely trying to get to his wife and save her before something dire happens to her.
His brain patterns read normal and his circulatory system has shown no ill affects from anything alien. Other than the stress he has endured, I see no reason to worry that he is a threat to us. Now with that said I did found something, the only thing I found that is disturbing.
Here, let me bring it up on the screen and show you.
(He presses a couple of buttons on the bio-beds console and shows Captain Thomas this..)
I found a small amount of this compound in his lungs. I've extracted all of it and am running tests. So far I haven't found anything it compares to in the medical data bases. But what the Lieutenant shared with me about his captivity, I believe is as clue to how it got there and what it does.
Any questions yet ma'am?
