OOC: Thanks, Nigel. I responded. Constable, the last time I turned this shade...and felt this bad...was when Scifire and I ate a pot of stew he made from some weird mushrooms. He said he got them from a reputable cultivator, but I think he dug them up from one of his experiments in his lab. *Looking around the area, Bubba's attention is drawn to the wrecked train.* Wow, what a mess! How did I make it out in one piece? Was anyone else in there when it crashed? *Feeling something moist, he rubs his nose and notices the blood...* Hey, what's up with this? Seth, Nigel...you got anything to stop this leaky schnozz of mine...?

*The medical personnel continue to treat Bubba's injuries, while Ginger's team searches the wrecked train car for other victims. From within the force screen the creature's aggressive behavior seems to have ceased...at least outwardly. Unbeknownst to the others, several thin tendrils have emerged from the underside of the beast, and have been prying at the deck plates below the monster. Feeling better, but still weak, Bubba turns to his rescuers while pulling a small bag from his pocket...*
Hey, you all have been awesome. I'd like to give you all a little something to show my appreciation. Would anyone like a cookie...?

Constable, the blood is Bubba's, that checks out. There are markers though that seems to show similar DNA structures of that of the creature. Go ahead and give him his aspirin Seth. I don't see any other signs of degridation in him at this time. If anything, it should help his aches.
Bubba, I suggest we get you down to SickBay right away and run more extensive tests. And we need to get some samples of tissue and more blood from that creature if possible. Maybe then we can figure this whole thing out?
Constable, can we get Bubba out of here first and then transport the creature safely to Sickbay?

OOC: So no one wants a cookie, ehh? Cowards! *Still feeling disoriented, Bubba tries to clear his head and follow the conversation.* So, what's the plan, Constable? Whatever it is, I wanna ride with Ensign Lowel. She's cute. Here, Ensign...you look like you could use a cookie. I've got a whole bag full...hey, what's with my hand? How come I can see through it...? *While his body continues to return to normal, it still remains partially transparent...as Bubba notices when offering Ensign Lowel the tasty treat...* Well, that's kinda cool! Hey look you guys, I can see you through my hand! Wow, that's not really the way it's supposed to be...is it? Uhhhh...catch me, Ensign... *Bubba stumbles toward Ensign Lowel, still clutching the cookie in his shaky hand. As the group's attention is temporarily pulled away from the creature, the monster's tendrils slide deeper between the metal deck plates, loosening them more and more...*

OOC: Nigel, that is too funny! *Hearing Seth mention his name, Bubba turns in his direction, still a bit wobbly and fuzzy in his perception of things.* Oh...Seth...thanks for the aspirin. You know, you look like you could use a cookie. Here ya go... *On his way over to Seth, bubba trips and lands in Constable Ginger's arms.* Contstable...hey, how's it going? You know...you smell really nice. What is that fragrance you're wearing? Here, have a cookie... *A terrible sound of metal being ripped apart shatters the scene and snaps the group's attention back to the the captive creature. From within the force field, the monster has managed to tear one of the deck plates free. With an renewed ferocity and a quickness belying it's bulk, the beast slams it repeatedly against the field, and in an explosive final thrust, the enclosure fails. The resulting concussion blasts through area, throwing the group off their feet and onto the deck. In an instant, the creature springs forward before any one can react and wraps itself around Bubba. A lone cookie falls from the struggling mass and drops to the floor, slowly rolling away from the horrific spectacle.....*

*Bubba is quickly plunged into darkness as the strange entity spreads over him, cutting off a startled scream in mid sentence. The others, while momentarily stunned, scramble back to their feet and rush forward to help. Their rescue attempt is cut short, however, as a new threat appears. The tendrils that the creature used to rip up the plating seem to have detached themselves from the main body of the beast, and are now racing toward the rest of the team...*

Lt. Gregory Boma: EVERYONE, STAND CLEAR! (scans the mass) I believe I am getting 2 life signs Constable. (HE FIRES A SHOT AT ONE OF THE TENDRILS WITH HIS PHASER) (tapping his comm-badge) Docking Bay 001, send a pod 200 meters outside the station, NOW!!! Ensign Beth Lowell: (pulls Seth out of the way of a tendril and fires on it with her phaser) Yeoman Kelly Sullivan: (Steps in front of Nigel and aims her phaser at a tendril) ((Lt. Boma gets word that a pod is ready per his orders)) Lt. Gregory Boma: (tapping his comm-badge) Transporter room, lock on my scanner signal and transport scanning results to the Pod, NOW!
((Transporter room relays message that a transport is now in progress))
OOC: Bubba, we are leaving it to you as to whether the tendrils are stopped by our phaser fire and if the transport is completed

OOC: Yea for the SST! You all deserve extra cookies! By the way...you forgot about Ensign Baxter! Go help that poor man! *Rising above the frenzy, the shrill whine of phasers being discharged intensifies the horror of the already ghastly spectacle. Several of the tendrils recoil after being struck by the blasts, and fall to the deck. But many of the other segments manage to dodge the fire and latch on to some team members. More fire erupts from the weapons, but the results are not exactly successful. After being hit by the blasts, the tendrils seem stunned for a moment but recover quickly, and continue to advance. A sense of dread blankets the team when more and more of the group are seized by the ominous segments. Soon after being entangled, a few of the crewmen start to black out as the coils squeeze ever tighter around them. But...without warning, the fearsome entities suddenly halt their onslaught. At the same instance, Bubba and the monstrous creature surrounding him fade from view, the teleportation process having been completed. However, just as suddenly, the tendrils resume their attack. Yet...the fury of the attack seems to have weakened...as do the tendrils themselves...*

Ensign Baxter: OOC:(They tend to forget me from time to time. LOL Ensign Donovan Baxter: (in a muffled voice) BOMA! this thing is wrapped around my neck. I can't breathe! Lt. Gregory Boma: (Aiming for the Tendril wrapped around Baxter) Hold still partner, and close your eyes! (Boma aims and fires. The phaser hits the tendril in a spot just under Baxter's left ear)
(As the tendril falls to the ground, Ensign Lowell runs to Baxter's side)
Ensign Beth Lowell: Donovan, are you alright?
Ensign Donovan Baxter: I'm not sure if I am more shocked by the tendrils hold on me or the fact that Boma just used me for target practice.
(Baxter sees the fallen tendril recovering and starting to squirm toward Ensign Lowell)
Ensign Donovan Baxter: BETH! BEHIND YOU!
(Ensign Beth Lowell turns quickly and fires on the tendril)
Ensign Beth Lowell: Not today monster!

OOC: I'm assuming the location of the pod is a small distance away, floating separately from the station. If not, let me know and I'll fix it. And Ensign Beth...watch out behind you!
*The sounds of battle and the flash of weapon fire quickly fade as Bubba and the creature are transported onto the security pod. The next sight he sees is the twinkling lights of the station through one of the small portals in their new surroundings, followed by the startling realization he is unable to move. He anxiously tries to make some sense of what is happening...and why.....*
What the...! What the name of my sweet Aunt Petunia is this??! I can't move a muscle! LET ME GO...YOU BIG...YOU BIG...THING!!!
*The creature maintains it's vice-like hold on Bubba, restricting his movements no matter how hard he struggles. But although the monster's grip is relentless, it is has stopped squeezing...at least for now.
Back on board the station, the conflict continues between the security team and the strange segments. The crew maneuver themselves into a strong defensive position, but the freakish tendrils persist in their attack. And even though the strength of the creatures has diminished, their resolve hasn't. Periodically, some of the tendrils divide, creating even more segments. A furious charge sends a hand full of the monsters into the group's line, and before she realizes what is happening, Ensign Lowell is set upon by a small horde...*

Ensign Beth Lowell: Dear God, I can't fire fast enough to stop them. (at the top of her lungs) SOMEONE, HELP!!!!
(Ensign Baxter runs to the weapons cabinet close by and pulls out a lazer rifle. He turns and aims at the horde ready to leap on Beth and he FIRES, being able to hit more of them in a wider range of lazer blasts)
OOC: It's your show Bubba, does this work? Poor Beth!

OOC: Awesome, SST! Now aren't you glad you helped Ensign Baxter!? Look out Beth, on your right! And Constable Ginger...duck! *The rapid fire ability of Ensign Baxter's weapon allows the SST to gain the upperhand...at least for now. Focusing on one of the creatures, he manages to drive it to the edge of the platform and over, sending the thing scurrying off into the darkness and back down the tunnel. But the victory is short-lived as another swarm regroups and springs forward. The crewmen struggle to maintain their position, but more of the segments advance. Once again, Ensign Lowel finds herself encircled by the insidious hoard and tries valiantly to keep from being overrun. Constable Ginger, recognizing her predicament, rushes in to help, but fails to notice two of the monsters hurdling toward her from behind...*

OOC: Hang on, Nigel! And Seth, you just gave me an idea! *The chaos continues with flashes of phaser and laser fire reflecting off the walls and ceiling...the cries of the crew increasing as more of the monsters attack. With careful aim, Lt. Boma blasts one of the tendrils away from Ginger, but the other segment manages to make contact, and begins to wrap around the Constable. Near by, Ensign Lowel fights on, utilizing years of training to keep herself from being completely over-run. Her weapon's power cells have almost been depleted, but the ensign fights on to save her teammates and herself. Off to the other side of the conflict, the laser rifle held by Ensign Baxter has almost overheated due to the strain of the rapid-fire option. Without allowing it to cool for a moment, he realizes that it will be useless if not allowed to rest. Laying it aside, he pulls his sidearm and continues the fight. Near the tube, Seth's actions manage to slow the progress of their captor, but both he and Nigel are unable to escape its grasp, and are drawn closer to the tunnel. In the midst of their struggle, however, a movement off to the side catches their attention. Scuttling toward them, Seth makes out another tendril bearing down on their position. The space between them rapidly disappears, with only a few meters separating them from this latest menace. But before it can reach them, an ear-splitting shriek suddenly erupts from the monster, and the two look on to find it recoiling in apparent agony. The freakish tendril pulls back, writhing on the deck while continuing to screech in pain. Seth quickly scans the area, searching for some clue that might explain the odd behavior. The immediate surroundings appear empty, devoid of anything that could account for the strange reaction. Nothing can be seen. Nothing at all...with one small exception. Lying a few arm's lengths away, one lone object rests on the cold, metal floor...a tiny, humble, cookie......*

There is nothing on my readings that show the creature has anything more than an annoying reaction to our efforts to stop it. If we could try to use heat or cold against it, maybe that would make some impact? I just don't know. (scans the area around them) What's that? (pointing) It seems to be staying clear of...of the Cookie?
