Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Russell Cooper reporting to you LIVE from the Newest addition to Solaris Humanus. The just completed, upper level of our beloved Commons. If you thought the 1st level had enough dining and shopping business's, you are in for a treat. We can't show you anything just yet. The man behind the massive project isn't allowing us to show any strategic parts of it till the opening this afternoon. From what I can see at the end of the walkway just before you enter the 2nd level, it is GORGEOUS! And for those of you that can't come down here tonight to see it for yourselves, we at SNN are going to bring it to you LIVE. Yes, you heard me, LIVE!
Once the festivities begin, we will start broadcasting and hopefully getting a few interviews of guests that are expected to arrive. Captain Thomas, the Ambassadors on the station that represent the worlds outside of Solaris and I understand there is a special treat planned. Special guests traveling here to not only enjoy our festivities, but possibly make some announcements concerning Solaris Humanus' Peace initiative. Of course, the members of the Solaris staff such as Dr. Eiluned, Solaris' CMO and Professor Scifire, staff Botanical Sciences officer are expected as well as many others I know you are excited to see here tonight. You know we will have the coverage you've come to expect AND respect from SNN.
Keep your monitors tuned into this frequency and in just a few short hours, the fun begins. This is Russell Cooper, SNN reporting.

(Opens the streamer that is tied to both sides of the walkway into the 2nd level of the Commons, then ties is back after he enters. Looks down the walkway at the view of the Commons and says to himself but out loud that anyone could hear it if they were near by)
What a spectacular night its going to be. The shops are preparing to open their doors, the vendors are setting up their food stands just in case the Restaurants are to busy to take them all in. I can smell the fun already!

Well Mr. Cooper, as you know, it has taken the better portion of 2 1/2 years from start to finish for this project. And might I say, under budget, just they way we like!  I would have to say that my inspiration came from two places. First off, the people of Solaris Humanus. They were so taken by the Commons area to begin with that it was just natural progression that a second level would eventually be needed to satisfy the appetites of all of us for much needed space to expand our blessed lives here on the Station. Secondly, I...wait, WE owe Captain Anita Thomas much gratitude for keeping us all safe while maintaining the Station as I am sure the Ancients would have wanted and keeping it alive and well for all to enjoy. OOC: There is another surprise coming once the opening festivities are over with Mr. Mosby!  |

Well if that doesn't say it all! Thank you so much Mr. Pebbington-Smythe. I know you have things to attend to so we will let you do so. (Turns back to the camera) Ladies and Gentlemen in our viewing audience. The moment has arrived. (waves to the two men at the top of the stairs and elevator to take down the streamers keeping the general public from entering the area, as Winston gives him the nod to do so) If you are staying at home tonight, keep your eyes glued to the monitor. I will be interviewing more guests as they arrive as we continue with our coverage of the Gala Opening of the NEW 2nd Level of the Solaris Commons! My apologies for the intrusion but I am hoping to be of some service.....you see...in a previous life i was employed on board a cruise ship where I was in charge of the ships bar and restaurant. I have been given a home here on Solaris and would very much like to serve in a capacity that suits my skills. I heard of the gala and thought perhaps I could have a job here.”

Interesting Mr. Mosby. It just so happens that I am opening a Restaurant and Nightclub tonight. 5 Star food and drink. And it also happens that I am a tad bit short of help in the Bar tonight.
I like your spunk sir. I tell you what, I am really busy right now and will be for most of the night. What if I send you to the Club and you tend Bar ans see to it the customers get the best service this side of the Orion Nebula?
I'll pop in from time to time to see how things are looking. And I will be checking in with my employees to see if they find your work is top notch enough to be worth being hired by Pebbington-Smythe Industries. Are you game sir?
OCC: I will be setting up the photo and story for the Nightclub in a short while. I want the guests to arrive to the Commons and have their interviews (if any) and let them take a look at the new shops. Can you wait for a day or so to get started with this?

With this newest addition Mr. Cooper, we plan on setting up in our history classes a new program called, "Solaris Humanus, where do we go from here." We are taking a look at not only where it came from, but where we are going from here into the future. All our many community leaders will be topics of discussion. We want to pay homage to them as well as to the station. |
