Rolls her eyes slightly at Reny.
My greatest concern for what we are going to find there, is if we find a lot of the survivors and we find captors, how do we eliminate the captors without letting their higher up command knowing that we've taken them out, and what is going to stop them from coming back in the future, how do we rescue 25,000 people off of the colonies for their future safety?
I've sent an emergency message to Sin, and I've activated the Yamato from codes DH had given me a while back, so both ships are on their way here.
There are large cargo ships on Solaris, that can carry, and I am totally guessing, as its been a while since I've toured those ships, 7-8 -9-10 thousand people ??? Under the circumstances I'm considering sending a message to Lee, and asking him to pilot the ship here, but my greatest fear with that is he might expereince another 'black out' and with that many lives, I am extremely hesitant, and would greatly appreciate your thoughts.
IF if is done then Sin, the Yamato and The Drifter can fly point with the cargo ship, as it only has minimal weapsons.

Getting that many people to the station would only be the start of the process, housing and providing for that many people would be a major undertaking. We have the space, but would need to provide utilities and food. Do we have enough replicators and power to run them?
There would also be social and security implications.
is there work for them, something to occupy them? It would also put a strain on medical, security and domestic services.
They may not want to, or agree to leave. I think we need to look at subduing any captors and then review the situation. It might be more practical to help them build the protections they would need to help them protect themselves, if they want that.

You are right of course, there is no doubt that they are Drej, it seems difficult to imagine how they could defend themselves again a Drej ship, and that is where I am getting caught up.

It would theoretically be possible to set up an orbital defence system. It would be time consuming and resource intensive but possible. Combined with a strong ground defensive force the colony could be made defensible.
The Drej have an agenda beyond just wiping out humans. They want something, if the prize is defended and the price is too high they may back off.
We must remember that these are not our people. We have a responsibility to render what aid we can but we cannot make long term decisions for them.
If the populous is being held captive I assume the guards are using energy weapons to control them. If we can recon the area and procure samples of the weapons it may be possible to target something like an EMP to disable coms and weapons.
Sarrin I assume you are monitoring for any communications to or from the planet? If they are checking in with base periodically we have to assume when they do not check in someone will come and check on them.
If DH were here he would probably work to an OODA loop. Observe, Orient, Decide, Act.
We need more intel before we can plan.

This way AMarie. (offers her a hand to get up off the bio-bed) This won't take but a few minutes. Its quite painless and will give you peace of mind knowing you are clear of any decontaminates. Attachments:

Again, You are right of course, I am over protective of the people on Solaris and I have no right to impose anything upon these people, except Lt. Kendal, and I want to find him and bring him and his family back home.
An orbital defence system, along with a strong ground defence system sounds perfect.
They do seem to have an agenda beyond just wiping out humans, they could have done that with the attack and didn't, instead they have hostages, and it worries me beyond words, so YES if we can upset their agenda, then that would be perfect.
Reny, listen to Sharrel, I have forgotten how you could get me so worked up, that no thought went into our actions, and old habit that I had gotten out of, and need to remember again, and we need to think this through, there are too many lives at stake, as Sharrel, said we need to recon the area with the drone, and then go in stealthy, to procure some of the weapons, I would also be open to catching a capture, if we could to interrogate them for their intentions, and if that is a Drej, we are going to need to take extreme precautions, and it needs to be on the ground and not on any of our ships, and we need lots more intel.
I am also going to send for that cargo ship, with all the supplies we need for a ground and orbital defence system, and ask Lee to bring it, this will be a good test for him, to see how he handles this assignment, and if any of the hostages want to come to Solaris, we are then prepared for them, if nothing comes of either, then its still a good test run for Lee.

We could do with input from someone who specialises in military logistics. Ensigns is that something covered at the Academy? If not we should look at adding it.
The business leaders on Solaris might be able to provide input. They will have, or have access to the project management skills that will be needed in the rebuilding.
If the Lt is there the drones should be able to pick up his com device.
He would be a high value target so may not be with the main populous. If we can locate him that might pinpoint a command centre which gives us an area to focus on.
*Looks over at Callie as she helps Amarie*
Captain, while we seek to recover the Lt I would suggest that when you contact Alia to have the cargo ship sent that you have the Lt’s official status updated to Missing in Action with the associated security protocols being enacted.
*Steps back from the biobed*
That is you done Zach, can you take a deep breath for me.

DH, and Constable Ginger should be on their way here with Sin, I am hoping that the Lt. is there, but I have a sinking feeling about it, if the captures know anything about Solaris they might know who he is. Sarrin, can you start a sector scan and scan for Lt. Kendal's implant? Looks at the two patients, and smiles at them both.
Sarrin, please relay a message to Solaris: Let Alia know that Lt.Kendall is Missing In Action, and enact standard Protocols, also give Lee the following instructions: that he has clearance for the Class 4 Cargo Ship, the largest one, he is to bring enough supplies for an orbital defence system and ground defence system, and Alia make sure that ship is fully stocked for lets say 10,000 people, there maybe be none, but we need to be prepared. End message. OOC Class 4: the larger ships have a large med bay, lab, multiple quarters with all the amenities, a small brig, transporters, cargo bays, dining area, recreation area, scientific lab, bio-metics lab, and a botanical section, and a holodeck unit, the smaller ones have the same on a smaller scale. They all have shields and a minimal array of weapons. The larger transports have docking ports to connect to others ships, including all five classes of ships, and this cargo ship has a dozen shuttles with 6 fighters in its cargo bay.

We do need to find out if there is someone who specialises in military Logistics, if there is no one, I wonder if DH would be interested in giving the students a few pointers. Ensign?
Smiles at the mention of Business Leaders, and thinks of Willowway and how he will be into taking advantage of the siltation.
I wonder if P-Smith are interested? Of if there are any students near graduating who might be interested in helping to rebuild under the direction of P-Smith?

I like that idea, it would be good experience for graduates.
We could ask if Willoway or P-S industries would assist in a very strict not for profit capacity. Willoway might not be interested if he can’t make a profit but we should ask.
He might surprise us, and at least that way he can’t complain about bias. Actually didn’t his sister have something going here?

And now that, I think about it, what ever graduates do come here, we could create a special department for them, so beyond this disaster, they could be involved in helping to build villages, towns, when we start our Stargate program, if whom ever we are building relations with, need that kind of help.
Sharrel, that is brilliant, and perfectly creative with both Companies.
I'm sure about his sister, she only recently arrived on Solaris and I had never met her.
Sci, you are being awful quiet, are you alright?

Sharrel, if we are able to capture a capture, and there is no doubt its Drej, do you feel you know enough about Drej physiology to help run an interrogation?
|
|
|
Post by Sharrel on Dec 19, 2017 13:15:54 GMT -5
I know enough about the physiology to calibrate a security field and safe containment area but brain imaging to detect a lie isn’t an option as we have nothing for comparison. We also don’t really know much about their body language.
Drones usually die before allowing themselves to be captured. We don’t know how autonomous drones or solider Drej are but I have never heard of anyone getting useful information from one.

(Distracted) What? Oh I'm sorry.
I was thinking a moment about what Sharrel suggested with Willoway and Pebbington-Smythe. I happen to know Willoway's Sister Miranda. I had no idea she returned to Solaris. Before she went on an extended visit to the Talusian Colonies, I met her thru Chancellor Insighthealer. Charming woman. And yes, if we want both companies involved or at the very least asked to be involved, I'd volunteer to talk to her. The possibility of going AROUND Grayson Willoway is helping me relieve this tension with talking about the Drej.

Ensign Carter: Ah yes, Military logistics, the discipline of planning and carrying out the movement and maintenance of military forces. We've all had some basics concerning it Doctor, but full courses are just now being introduced at the Academy. Thankfully. With the way the universe works these days, its a necessary and important need. Attachments:

Ensign Callie Truman: Yes that's right. Just step in. It like a shower stall except there won't be any water. Just a nice sonic rinsing. You might feel a bit of tingling on your skin, but it is quite relaxing. I'll close the door and you tell me when you are ready for the process to begin. Attachments:
