Why don’t you meditate till she is ready to go.
You keep rubbing your temples so I am guessing you have a headache.
Will Sci walk again unaided?

I am sure he will, but not for a while, he is looking at weeks if not months.
I need to speak to Perrin and warn him about that. I wonder if he could design an assistance droid. He is going to want to help and Sci won’t allow him to try healing him. That might give him something to focus on,

Could Perrin heal him? His abilities are impressive but we don’t know how his healing works.

Perhaps but as you said, we don’t know how his healing abilities work.
He seems to exchange his health for the patient’s injury. Then his body rapidly heals the injury. I wonder if he heals injuries sustained normally as quickly as those he takes from others. Apart from the transporter accident he hadn’t really been to sickbay as a patient.
It would be too risky, we have no idea if the paralysis would hamper his ability to heal the damage when he took it from Sci, it would be too much of a risk.
It might be fine, or not but Sci would never agree to it, neither would I in his place so we will never know. I will take your advice and meditate for a bit.

You are a caring, loving soul, and nurture life, like you nurture your garden. I seem to recall there is some natural law or another that says; "for every reaction there is an equal and opposite reaction", and because of that it creates a balance, it makes us accountable for our actions. It was a mistake you picked up that life form on the planet, and you suffered the consequences right away with that bolt of lightening. You paid for your mistake in full. Yes they could have killed us, but they didn't. A life form that sentient would know we meant no harm, would know, or at least have the ability to sense we meant no harm, and it targeted you souly to teach you, and to teach us all, I am sure if those life forms wanted us dead, we would be dead. They did teach us, we don't know how advanced they are, but I doubt they would kill senselessly, and I doubt if it came right down to it, you wouldn't kill senselessly either. As for the transport accident it was that, simply an accident, but if you want to look at it from the point of view of that law: "for every reaction there is an equal and opposite reaction", you really need to step outside of yourself and look at the bigger picture. The Drej, they have it in there programming to destroy us, how the hell they came into being, or who gave them that programming will have consequences to pay for each and every life that they have taken, how this will happen I don't know. I do believe there is something bigger then us all, and some how or some way we are all part of it, as to what that is, I don't know, but going after the Drej and Braxxul will help us, and ultimately humanity and maybe in that way we are part of the "bigger something" that connects us all, and will help to create balance in the end. When I look back on my life, I wonder how the hell I came to be on Solaris, I don't want to say it was pre-destined, because I don't know, I made choices, some good and some bad, and it lead me to Solaris, and the people there, at the time, well some supported me and some didn't, and some wanted me dead. I have made mistakes and will make mistakes, but the price for my mistakes is lives. How do I balance that? I can't live in fear of it, every time we face the drej or Braxxul, or others, there is another chance that we will loose lives, are they lost because of the choices I made? or the choice they made to follow me? Are those lives lost because I reacted in response to an attack ? How do I hold myself accountable to that? Or do we go on, and know that somehow that we are part of something bigger, and that in the end, we will take down the darkness, the dark side, and those that follow it. You have nothing to be ashamed about, and stop beating yourself up. You need to heal, and you need to forgive yourself and let your body heal. You need to learn to be in that chair, and you need to teach us all from being in that chair, and you need stop being so hard on yourself, because when you are, you are also hard on Perrin. He can pick it up and feel it, so don't feel that way in the first place, he is a young man coming into his own, and feeling his way around, give him that, by forgiving yourself. Going back to,"for every reaction there is an equal and opposite reaction" from a smaller point of view, what happened to you, was a reaction or opposite reaction to a drej attack, and what happened to me was the same when the drej attacked, and the same when Oliver saved me, and Sharrel healed me.
So where does that leave us? Where does it leave you?

Profound words Anita. My brain tells me you are right. I really do understand what you and Sharrel have said to me.
But this accident has given me insight into my own mortality. Nothing is forever. We should all learn that. God knows I found that out by the first attack on Earth those many years ago by the Drej. My wife Maureen paid the price for that lesson.
I would never do anything to harm Perrin, you know that. But perhaps he is better off with someone else now. Someone that can help him come into his own like you say. I will be hindered physically in trying to do so.
I've... *gives her a very serious look* ...I've decided to cancel those plans of adopting Perrin when we return to Solaris. It wouldn't be fair to him. He has his life to live and I will not hold him back by feeling he has to stay at home with me and take care of an invalid Father.
And before you go there, I am not looking for pity. I am doing this for him. He deserves better.

What Perrin needs to come into his own, is your love. Did the accident cause you to stop loving him?

OOC: Gar, you don't call this riled up? By either of them? I think I am better off taking my chances with the Drej. *starts to tear up, they run down his face as he wipes them away* Oh you would go there. Thanx for that. Of course I still love him. That will never change. You don't go thru all we have been thru and not love them any less. That's not what parenting is about. Quite honestly, now I am not sure what parenting is about. He is getting older and this is a change I'm not sure I am ready for. I just know that I love him enough not to be a burden to him. *he feels a slight pain and jerks as he grabs the right side of his back* *then feels a bit angry* NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE will love that boy more than I do. I just can't do this to him. I won't. *overwhelmed with his anger, depression and the pain he feels in his back, he breaks down in front of the Captain* This is all just to much right now. I'm sorry Anita. Could I please be alone to try and get some rest? Please?

Sits outside of Sci's room, trying not to let this get her down, there are what? Just over 24,000 people on the lower decks, and because she choose to come here, they have their lives, and Perrin's live is about to be destroyed.

No.
He simply doesn't see that he is going to destroy Perrin.
If I followed his logic, I should go into a deep depression, get myself dunk out of my mind, and blame myself for the destruction of Perrin's life.

A drink or 2 or more sounds great but we have too much work to do.
We need to talk to Perrin before he talks to Sci. If he understands that Sci is depressed and feels like a burden that might help mentally prepare him, at least a little. He needs to understand Sci doesn’t feel worthy to be his father. It isn’t that Perrin isn’t good enough to be his son.
We can’t stop him being hurt, but we can provide support. Hopefully he will be able to sense Sci loves him. It isn’t fair but Perrin is going to have to be the responsible adult for a while because Sci isn’t thinking rationally at all.

I agree, we need to talk to Perrin,
I saw your clipboard in there and seriously considered wonking him with it, although I don't think that would have helped his mental state any, it would have helped mine.
When this all done, and we are back on Solaris, lets sit for drinks.

(He decides to go to Sickbay)
(Opens the bay doors and walks in and sees Dr. Eiluned and the Captain near Uncle Sci's door and worries. So he runs over to them)
(panicking) Oh my god is Uncle Sci alright? He..he didn't.....(and then calmly)..die?
(he looks at one and then the other with a terror filled look at what their answer might be)

His injuries were never life threatening Perrin.
But we do need to talk about his recovery timescales.
