^_^ First time on this board? Please read this.
Welcome!
This is Solaris Humanus, a Role Playing Game (rpg).
We create role playing characters, they can be anything, or anyone.
No super heros, please! It reduces the total role playing fun for everyone.
We can all have a lot of fun here, who knows where a story can go!
Mission Statement
A Space Station, who's purpose it too help unite & preserve mankind against known and unknown evils.
Basic Character Set Up Rules
1. For those of you, who wish to be part of Solaris, please continue to Register your character.
2. If you have any Questions, please go the the Help Portal and post, people here are friendly and will help answer your questions.
3. Please use the Arrival / Leaving: Solaris Stories & Space outside of the Station- if you intend to dock with with Solaris. Come up with a story to arrive on Solaris, the easiest is coming through the worm hole.
4. If you intend to land or play on one of the planets, use that forum. Please read the threads there to see how others have established their presences, and feel free to create a background story.
5. One of the station's protocol is that all new members landing on the station are required to have a medical exam, please visit the Med Bays & Human Physiology Examination.
6. After visit the Med Bays, please also go to Personnel and Visitors Quarters too set up Quarters for yourself.
Role Playing Rules
In the spirit of trying to be fair to ALL Players, we have these rules, If you think them unfair tell me why. If you think they can be improved tell me why.
1. Balance out all strengths with an equal weakness.
Players have to honour their own characters, and others by staying within the events of the story line, and by not creating situations or characters so far fetched it ruins play for everyone.
Players have to honour their own characters and others by playing their own characters, unless you have the permission of another to use their character.
If your character has great strength, then they should have an equally great weakness. In the fairness of the game you can not claim a weakness that is rarely used.
Characters who have ultimate powers, are not being fair to other players.
2. Realistic Surroundings and Story Line
Note, the others' characters descriptions of an environment created.
If someone describes and explosion, go with it, don't ignore it. You may or may want to injure your character or not, but at the very least, there will be debris to go around or over.
If it rains, or the sprinkler system goes off, you get wet. If there is a hole in the bulk head, the air will be sucked out and so on.
A character can not do anything that is outside normal physical limitations in any particular setting.
If a character has skills within their normal ability to patch a hole in the hull, then he also has an equal weakness.
3. Nothing is 100%
No armor is 100%, no psychic/magic defense is 100%, no security is 100%, and so on. It may be difficult, but not impossible. Let's make this a game of skill as well as imagination.
4. Moving your Character around
Keep the story line clean, let others see where you have come from and where you are going.
5. Character Injury
Don't tell another character he/she is injured. If a bomb goes off then let the character decide for his/her self if they are injured and to what degree, BUT remember keeping the surrounding realistic.
IF a bomb goes off, you can not just walk away with out a scratch. IF it rains you have to respond to that.
6. Killing - Death and Dying
You CAN NOT kill another character.
Exception 1: If for some reason a character wishes to be killed, that character must express it somehow. Even if that means after the fact in the Help Portal in an Out Of Character Context giving approval.
Exception 2: By stating he/she has arranged it already via email with another or would like to have a certain type of death, within a certain time period with other descriptive details.
No exceptions out side of these two conditions.
7. Real Life Issues and Disappearing Members
Everyone understands that real life issues take precedence over role playing, however those of us on the board would appreciate it if we could be given some notice of absence, if your going to be gone for more then three days, and if it is possible. This also benefits the role playing so those role playing will know that the role playing won't stall out, while waiting for a person to return.
If for some reason, your gone more then seven days, without contacting the board, please forgive us, but the role playing will continue, otherwise it will stall out and everyone suffers.
We'll take care of your character more then likely they will end up in long term medical stasis. Other long term storage options for your character are the brig or your quarters.
Happy Role Playing & Welcome to Solaris Humanus !!!
