Recently there has been a huge increase in spammer posts.

Including 2 in the last 2 days.

I am not putting up with this.

I have made Solaris - Request for approval for all new people wanting to sign up to Solaris.

This way, they can create a billion accounts, but can not post without approval to join the board.

Lets see how this goes.

The sad part for them, if they actually took time to look at the board there is a spammers forum near the bottom of the board.

I tried to create a fake new account and it worked, so any new accounts will have to have admin approval before being able to join Solaris.

Having said that I have no idea how that is going to affect our current members from adding a new account to their current user name, as you can do that from within your logged in account.

You can also link other user accounts if you have them with different user accounts, don't recall how to do that on top of my head, but I believe you have to change the email in the one account you want to link, to the main account with that email, then somewhere it asks if you want to link them and say yes.

Another spammer tried and was stopped at the front gate, with the "Request for approval for Solaris new membership" .

This spammer is from Bangladesh, I am not sure where the others were actually from, I assumed china, as all the posts were in chinese. But I never actually looked them up. I should never assume.
