Happy Halloween, you wacky kids! I have to say, I was a little disappointed this year. I was all set for the kiddos: I had my candy ready, the jack-o-lanterns were on the porch and all lit up, I made a streamlined candy conveyance device to protect the little ones...and the big ones...from the dreaded #19, I even sent the resident face-eating zombies out to a movie for the evening. But only a few kiddos showed up. It's sad to think that they couldn't participate in such a fun holiday. I remember having a blast when we were kids. My brothers and sisters would come home and dump out our haul, and marvel at all the goodies. We'd take turns trying to trade the items we didn't like by extoling the merits and advantages of one type of candy over another. My parents were very diplomatic about making sure all of us were satisfied, and put a limit on how much we could devour each day after the initial cram fest. So much fun. So I feel bad for the little ones. And now I have a giant bowl of candy I don't know what to do with. Or do I.......

You know EXACTLY what to do with it Bubba! I stopped giving out candy a few years ago because all the small ones in my family were grown and done with it. But usually the neighborhood is very busy on all Hallow's Eve. You couldn't even drive in the street till the 2 hour trick or treat event was over. This year I could only see maybe 5 or 6 neighbors out of 30 were participating. And there weren't all that many kids walking the neighborhood either. The dreaded #19 has taken the wind out of all our sails. Its very depressing.

I am so done with #19. I spend half the time being sad about it, and the other half angry.
