The Make Announcement feature on Solaris Proboards,
Means that no matter what forum you are in, you will see this icon at the top of the page,  and it will give you a link to the original posting.
It is the first time knowingly using this feature, and it will be used to make IC announcements, or things related to IC activities, in this case, Solaris Humanus is stretching its engines and for the first time since we have been on this station, we are engaging engines to travel, not simply moving from spot to spot.
The Solaris News Network, might like to contact me about this feature when they have some station wide news to share.

You would create a thread in in your News forum, that is strictly for News that is station wide, and you would need one of the admins, to make it an "announcement", through the admin menu.
It is the same principle as making a thread a sticky, but this stickies it to every forum on the board.
