Takes the offered hand.
It is very good to see you, and it has been too long.
Yes, lets go to your office.

(as he closes the office door behind them, he offers the Captain a chair at the front of the desk)
Please Captain, have a seat.
(as they sit)
I appreciate you taking time out of your long days running the station to sit with me a moment and go over an idea I've had for a while now. I've been going over this idea in my mind ever since your return from the last mission you took with Dr. Eiluned and Professor Scifire aboard the Drifter.

Thank you Winston.. As she sits. Very grateful to be here Winston, and yes sometimes it seems there are not enough hours in a day. Or it seems like time is speeding up... not sure which... (smiles)I'm sure you are just as busy as I am. It sounds intriguing. Yes, that was a good trip, I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to be with both the Dr. Eliuned and Professor Scifire. Dr. Eliuned is currently away on sabbatical, spending time with her family. I hope all is well .... I worry.
Back on point, what is this idea of yours?

Well Captain, not only is it an idea I have for the Drifter's use, but also for possible use by the Stargate teams. I've run the idea by Ambassador Sandrine and he seems to think its a valid option for them as well. Funding will be an issue, but you know that has never stopped me to get programs off the blueprints and into production for actual use. I would like to offer Solaris Humanus another option for exploration. A fleet of vehicles, mini labs on wheels if you will, that can be staffed with those going on the missions. Each one marked with the logo, SHADO. To represent not only the Stargates "Alien Defense Organization," but also to be used on away missions such as the one you took with the Professor and Dr. Eiluned. When leg work by the team isn't possible OR dangerous. Let me start by showing you this.... OOC: I'm getting there. LOL

I like the idea, really like the idea, do you have any visuals yet?

(pulling out his blueprints) First off, let me show you what my graphics team has put on the drawing board for your approval. (rolls out each blueprint as he discusses them with her) This is a sketch of Shado 1. Each vehicle manufactured would have its own call numbers. Just as any ship would. This way it can be identified and located easily before, during and after any missions it may go on. Of course each one must have the logo, Shado applied with the call number. As you know, Shado stands for (Solaris Humanus Alien Defense Organization)! Here is an example of one with the next number assigned to it. My team was very excited to do this for you and made a couple of blueprints when one was really sufficient. lol They get as carried away by an idea as much as I do. Then here is Shado Control. This would be the main unit that all the other vehicles would answer to. I would suggest the Drifter be equipped with this one. Each vehicle can hold anywhere from 1 to 5 crewmen. Each vehicle would be equipped with a lab for any testing you might deem necessary on any away mission. This would eliminate the need to take samples and return with them to Solaris, cutting the waiting period for testing answers at least by 90%. Of course, the vehicles would have a defense arsenal aboard, meaning a lazer mounted to the vehicle and would also carry weapons for the crewmen. It would be equipped with the best technology Solaris and, if might say, Pebbington-Smythe Industries has to offer at this time. Communications with the Stargate home base on Solaris could receive as well as Solaris itself and of course other vehicles on the ground if there should be more than one on any mission. I have more to show you, but I am curious as to what you may think at this point. If I am out of line with this idea, please say so and I won't waste any more of your time.

They are really impressive, and I am sure the Major could use these on the away teams as well, and they look like they will just fit through the stargate.
Solaris, would give you a grant to get production started.

I apologize, this is the only animation my team has prepared. A little miscommunication on my part. This shows the vehicles exiting a Starship. This could be any Solaris' ships that have the ability to load and unload cargo this way. i.postimg.cc/TP0TFDvC/giphy.gif This is the Shado vehicle as it speeds along the terrain. This is of course the vehicle parked. You can see the relative size as it compares the crew in the driving section and how the lab section is in the rear.

All in all Captain, I think we could do many things with these vehicles added to our fleet of ships and to the Stargate program when needed.

Wow!
That piece of equipment is extremely impressive, and I can see many, many possibilities for it.
If need be, what is the maximum number of crew or passengers it can carry? I'm thinking emergency evacuation, if beaming out is not possible.
We had a situation like that.

We can retro fit each Shado vehicle to specifications, whether its for traveling with a Laboratory inside, and depending on what is required for such, the Lab vehicles would seat anywhere from 5 to eight people in addition to the one that would be required to drive. If its just a land rover for getting a crew across a known rough topographical area, and not requiring the Lab inside, that vehicle could seat as many as 15 people, again not including the driver. Oh and by the way, I seem to have misplaced my sketch, but these vehicles can also travel in water. The treads are so that it would keep them afloat as they traverse a body of water should that be necessary. I guess I wasn't quite as prepared as I'd liked to think I was. This is a huge undertaking for Pebbington-Smythe Industries Captain. I am a bit nervous.

Winston, that is absolutely perfect!
Travelling on water?!
The treads, mmm and that also explains the boat like shape on the bottom of the unit.
Winston, you have done an amazing thing here, created some thing very practical for Solaris, and all its members, don't worry about a few sketches.
The question, more importantly, what size grant do you need to get started, and when can you get started?
When can you get a prototype made, I would like to start training as soon as possible.

And by the way, I was so excited to present this idea to you that I forgot to say that if for some reason the Dutronium fuel is exhausted in the vehicle, they can be set to solar power. But they must be dual powered in case sunlight is not an option in some cases.
(hands the Captain a paper with the specs for the vehicles and the size of the grant that would be needed)
That grant could be reduced significantly if...and I say if, we decide we want to include Willoway in this project?
(Sees the hesitation in the Captain's face)
I know, I have my issues with the man as well. Let me explain?

That is smart, dual fuel.
Takes the handed papers, and starts to go over them and examining the specs, until he mentions Willoway.
Her eye brows go up, and seriously frowns.
Before we go any further.
I think this conversation should stop a moment until I can have a glass of whiskey.

LOL Well you are in luck ma'am. (gets up and goes to a cabinet behind the table and opening the door, grabs a bottle and returns to his desk and shows it to the Captain) Vintage, a very good year if I do say so myself. I keep it for special occasions AND for the times when something doesn't quite sit well with me. It helps me think. Actually I just convince myself it helps. I haven't found that it helps any bad situation get resolved. LOL (pulls a drawer open in his desk and pulls out two small glasses) Its small, but we can refill! (pours himself and the Captain a glass full and hands it to her) I didn't know you were a whiskey drinker Captain.

An old scottish friend from Earth introduced me to it. lol I was often told "a wee dram never hurt anyone".
I don't think alcohol resolves anything, drinking to excess - definitely not, and not a believer in that. But I like the taste of the whisky, and frankly, it helps gives me pause. Pause to think in a conversation, and a moment to take a deep breath,
Having said that, Willoway makes my blood pressure goes up, and whisky can be a temporary solution to that.
Very grateful, you have some!
Takes the offered glass, and takes several small sips.
Its very good.

Well with that said, lets have that hard chat.
Captain, GW Enterprises has a patent on a synthetic fiber used in the Rubber material those treads shown in my designs are made. Now I can and have been trying to come up with something just as good, and I am close, but still a few years off for anything nearly as good as what he has created manufactured.
I'm not saying we can't use what material is now available, but if you want the best, and I mean THE BEST, our vehicles treads should be made with his material.
I understand your blood pressure issue when it comes to Grayson. He's been a thorn in my side for many years. When he has an advantage, he uses it for all its worth. Especially for self gain. But what it comes down to is that I just want the best product for Solaris to move forward in the Shado program and of course, our people to be safe using those vehicles in and for any scenario.
We may have someone we can trust at GW Enterprises to convince ol' Willoway to see our side of this and deal fairly for his product.

The first question that pops up, is:
If he wants the contract, and of course the money, which you will manage, then he can be forced to deal fairly.
The question is: if forced to deal fairly, will he?
Having someone at GW Enterprises is definitely a bonus.
And of course you are right, we do want the best possible materials for this product, especially since this will be used off station and there can't be any risks of failures.

With your permission to look further into the matter, I will gladly speak to Miranda Lockridge. I happen to know her from our college days and I think she would put Willoway in his place for the good of all.
She and I have always seen eye to eye business wise. At least we used too. Quite honestly, I haven't spoken to her in months since she arrived on the station.
Maybe I should touch base and see how she's doing?
And I know how that sounds like something out of Willoway's playbook, but its time we turn his manipulations back in on him! Don't you agree?
