Simplified, a holodeck, is a space that is empty to start, but the computer creates a virtual reality of any simulation that you want, and any food and drink are real and replicated to blend into the simulation.
I'm on my way in here to meet Caleb, but before we go in, I'll ask his permission.

I'm outside, and there is a gentleman out here, who has never seen a holodeck, can he come in?

Once in the hallway, as she heads to the TTT she notices the name of another holosuite running: Anaes Colony - Theta Signa 3, and she stops, and for a moment it feels like her breath is taken away, she catches her breath and stepping forward, she rings the buzzer.

Leaving Anaes Colony - Theta Signa 3, she leans against the wall, allowing herself for a moment to day dream about that, then shakes herself, those are dreams, at least he is here, and then she stops.
What would he be doing if he and Chandra had never left the colony? Again, she can't answer that, but the reality is they are here now, and they have to make a life for themselves and be happy.
She is really happy that he has found something were he will find some fulfilment, and how will it work out for him and myself, only time will tell, and maybe years down the road they might be able to be together, or maybe not, only time will tell, either way, right here, right now, she had to go and inspect The Drifter, and talk to Oliver.
Getting on the TTT she heads for engineering.
