That is a possibility but the amount of fortification needed to defend against a prolonged attack by the Drej or Braxxul would be extensive and take a great deal of time to install leaving you vulnerable in the meantime. And if they attack together? It would be difficult to see how you would withstand that.
Underground fortifications would withstand orbital bombardment better than surface dwellings but given the siesmic activity that occurred when the explosions went off in the caves that might not be possible.
And you would need to be totally self sufficient as it would be easy to blockage the planet.

With an encrypted Communications link open,
Major, Sin, Yamato we should move to a more remote location, lets head towards Henbit, but stop half way there, and out of the traffic path, and if it is possible can Sharrel and the Mayor beam over to The Drifter.

I don't want my services to be taken in anyway to mean your psychological care hasn't been wonderful as well. Not at all Miss Nyree. Although we have capable counselors and a wonderful psychologist, we are all quite busy with the colonists. There just isn't enough time in the day right now to care for all of them in the manner needed. You take what time you need with the Professor. If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask. Professor Scifire is in room number 7.
