“That’s right Sir. I’m really here to meet the Captain. Is she still on board?”

I had asked the Captain to call you because that is exactly what I wanted. Your help!

Very professional Captain. And quite successfully I might add. I don't think anyone could have handled things any better. Why do you ask?

I would like him to lead the first Stargate team, to start when he gets back from Chai, in a few days time. We both know he has had some serious issues in the past, since I wasn't on The Titan during the most stressful periods during this mission, so I need to rely on people who where there to give me an idea.
He will be responsible for other people's lives, and far from any immediate support from myself and other Solarians, and others will be looking to him for immediate support, and in some cases maybe some of the locals will be looking for some immediate support, and he will be dealing with unknown cultures, and unknown languages, and in short First Contact.
The other thing I wanted to ask you, it is my understanding that you and the Major 'like' each other, and was wondering how that played into both of your abilities to work with each other under stress.

(Feeling a bit uneasy about the "like" comment at first, she gives it a thought for a second and then answers)
Captain, whether William and I "like" each other isn't an issue. I want to put this in a way that will assure you of his ability to do the job. William has over overcome a great amount of personal tragedy in his life, much of it from the Drej. He was nothing but professional with me and everyone else I observed that dealt with him during the mission on Titan. His ability to treat me as a member of the crew was respectful as was with all crew members. I did not see any "erosion" of that during any stress he may have encountered and I know there was plenty. I felt he was quite calm and collected and I truly believe all the crew felt that way. I think the crew's trust in him during this mission says much about that calm and collective demeanor he now experiences.
I guess this is a long around way of saying to you...I think you will have made an excellent choice if you decide to hand over to him the lead of the Stargate team. And that is not coming from someone that also "likes" him, but from one that respects the man he has become.

I completely understand Captain and I was not offended. I just wanted to find a way to assure you that his personal feelings for me never entered the equation at all in any decisions or actions he made while commanding the Titan.

Gar, I have been meaning to speak with you since I came aboard but with all that had transpired, well now is the first moment we've had. How are you feeling? This is the first mission you have commandeered in quite a long time. Exhausted? Exhilirated? Depressed? How is Major Garjobuva at this moment?

And I want to apologize for seeming to not want you here with me after the accident. My emotions were all over the place. Sadly, not in the adult place where they should have been.

I can see that look in your eyes. Much like the one you gave the EMH and I a couple of months ago when we were discussing your mental well being at that time. I think you've come a long way Gar. Its good to see. And if that Stargate command were to come to fruition....
Do you feel you are ready to deal with the stress that comes with possibly handling dangerous situations far from any help that Solaris Humanus could give you? Afterall, you'd be far from home, possibly cut off for long periods of time. You will be responsible for your teams lives.
