Drej Anatomy.
The Drej body is constituted of pure energy organised around a biological core. As the core is of a biological nature the Drej are unable to pass through solid mater- force fields in the same manor that might be expected from Purely energy based life form.
Anatomically, the body is constituted by a compact torso, an oblong head supported by a medium-length highly mobile neck, long multi-articulated legs and normal (humanoid like) arms.
The body colour consists of different hues of blue interchanging constantly in a fluid-like manner. The body also emits a faint blue glow. The Surface tension created by the energy flow is very high, this in effect acts as light to medium body armour.
Their height is superior to the average human height, particularly when they assume a completely upright posture; specifically, their average height is 2,5 meters (fully distended) and 2,1 meters (walking posture)
The Drej are capable of regenerating damaged or even severed limbs, but not to regenerate massive damage in the torso or in the head either by energy or projectile weapons. Severe head or torso damage usually proves fatal.
The Drej are highly technologically advanced and tend to use conventional weapons. No evidence of inbuilt energy weaponry has been found so far.
The society is thought to be hive like, with a ruling queen. It has been suggested that there are several different classes of Drej, such as drone, soldier etc. But this has still to be proven.
It has also been suggested that all Drej are tied into the Queen telepathically. As yet no formal research has been carried out in this area, however understanding the mechanism the Queen uses to control her hive with the eventual elucidation of a blocking mechanism may provide a useful tactical advantage.
