That isn't fair Jillian. Your Mother and I were very young when we met and lived together. When we realized we were better apart then together, she left me. I wanted to keep working at the relationship. And I had no idea she was pregnant with you when she did leave. You know that!

And when I was 8 years old and you finally found out I was yours, did you come back? Did you claim me as your Daughter? NO!

I did go back! That was when Deidre first became ill and knew her days were numbered. She told me you were mine but begged me to stay away because she felt my lifestyle at the time was not conducive to properly raising a little girl.
I was just getting my feet wet in my Fathers legacy and building my own. And she was right Jillian. At that time of my life, I could not have given you the type of life you needed to become the proper lady your Mother wanted you to be. The way she was bringing you up to be.
I've lived with deep regret since that day. Wishing I had taken the responsibility and claimed you then. But I loved your Mother deeply and did as she begged me to do.

Really Jillian? You want to have this discussion again? The dozen or so trips I made to Talusia Prime since her death always ended in fights on this subject. And since my last visit some years ago, I see it has really festered in you like a cancer. So much so you came to Solaris to sabotage the opening of this club? Potentially injuring people. Or worse! I respected Diedre enough to let her raise you the way she saw fit. And I played it hands off just as she requested....because I loved her so much. (walks over to the Desk that Jillian is sitting at and punches up some site on the computer) Here, look at this. Its the photos I keep on every device I own, personally and professionally. I look at them often. But the photo of the little girl...I look at daily! GO ON! TAKE A LOOK! (The photos are of his ex wife Deidre on their wedding day and of Jillian as an 6 year old. The only photo Diedre gave him)   |
