Report fromTexas
Same story with the bare shelves and such...Harris County (Houston) has issues the “Stay home Work Safe”. I live in the next county over so we won’t be far behind. School have closed like everywhere else. I work for the local school district so I had to get my computer and I am working at home until further notice....it’s really more like be available in case they need something. I doubt very seriously we will be back at school this year.
Everyone please stay safe and healthy

The shelves are starting to be stocked again, although they still look empty, but there are a few bags of rice, pasta and flour, we even had toilet roll in yesterday, and there are limits on what people can buy.
Its effecting the food bank, because of the limits, people usually buy extra to help the food bank.

Thank you Sarina, I gratefully appreciate, ....
Everyone here and honestly I am still trying to come to terms with the fact that he is gone.
But I am very grateful that we did have a chance to get to know each other with the time we had, and the he had the chance to know that he wasn't alone in the world, (outside of his wife and 3 kids), he had family.

I found this by accident this morning.
On topic, but a bit lite hearted, I found out what they are doing with all the toilet rolls. Its a 3 minute video, at 1:20 seconds you'll see. ca.news.yahoo.com/world-coping-covid-19-221517483.htmlA comment about the Melborne Zoo fellow, I love a man who knows how to dance.

The zoo guy was great.
Police now have powers to issue fines to anyone breaking the lockdown orders.
The prime-minister and Health Secretary have tested positive and the chief scientific advisor is waiting for test results after developing symptoms

Health care staff can refer to the PPE guidelines but they can’t adhere to them as there is a serious shortage of approved PPE in hospitals and community sites. The government keeps saying more protective kit is coming but not nearly fast enough.
There are too many cases to have only specific treatment centres although the government is setting up emergency temporary Covid hospitals. Deaths are now over 1,200 and it looks like lockdown is going to be extended until May at least.

Your right Sharrel, please forgive me, I only saw " no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious diseases" and thought finally some good news.
I'm not exactly sure where my 'head space' was when I saw that, but no excuses.
This virus is changing the very structure of the world we live in, and there are so many thousands, hundreds of thousands of medical people on the front lines, working insane hours to help people. And all of the support people behind them, and those behind them, and so forth, risking their lives; including those still running the shops, and online shopping like amazon.
And I don't understand, why some people are still out, collecting on beaches, golf course, where - when ever in large groups. If you want to risk your own life, but to risk other lives ..... they are ticking time bombs.

As the 2nd full week of the nonstop crazy buying spree everyone is on continues, I had a triple treat today.
3 different customers actually were nice and complimentary today.
One man, as he walked by me in the meat dept looking for chicken, he turned to me and said, "Thank you sir for coming in and filling these shelves today." I was shocked. I told him "Your Welcome," and then made sure he knew I appreciated the sentiment and returned the thank you.
Then 2 ladies, at 2 different times of the day, as they walked past me said thank you so much for coming into work and being here for us.
Again I was shocked! This is the first time in AGES a customer was actually nice to me. I'm sure someone in the store gets a nice customer from time to time, but I kid you not, it has been ages since I've seen any customer in my dept with a smile let alone with a compliment.
It was just so refreshing and made me feel good. Again, I thanked those 3 customers and hope they to are treated respectfully in the paths they walk today and everyday.
(side note) The friend at work I said his Mother was diagnosed with the Covid along with Cancer, she is doing well with no bad problems yet and he has no symptoms. Good news!

Very lucky so far that no one I know casually or personally has had any contact with the virus.
Let us all keep it that way!

Some good news is that they think the lockdown might be starting to have an effect here. Cases are still going up by about 1000 a day, but it is staying steady at that. With any luck the curve will stay below what the health service can cope with.
One really nice thing is that the government asked for 250,000 volunteers to help with getting food and medication to vulnerable and elderly people and help charities that can provide emotional support or just someone to talk to.
After a couple of days 750,000 people signed up. One of them was the actor James McAvoy who also donated £275,000 to buy protective equipment for hospital staff. Which is really nice, but shocking that the hospitals need to crowd fund for such vital equipment. We have already had at least 2 doctors and a nurse die of Covid-19.

Wow, that is really good of him to do that. Lots of vitamin C every one! Orthomolecular Medicine News www.orthomolecular.org/resources/omns/index.shtmlIf you read the Subject Titles for Volume 16, Most of it is about Vitamin C and its treatment for the Coronavirus, and how tons (literally) of Vitamin C has been used in Wuhan China for the corona virus, and how vitamin C reduces the mortality rate of corona virus patients.
I'm not sure now which one I read, but it suggested as preventative 2,000 mg a day.

Be safe everyone.

Glad she is doing well.
Remember to take vitamin D as well as C, especially if you are spending almost all your time at home.

Here is a video, it was shown to me today, its 53 minutes long, and it is an interview of Dr. Shiva, and he fills you in on the whole picture, and its not a pretty picture, but its the whole pictures. He also recommends vitamin D, in addition he recommends vitamin A. He is saying the three vitamins, D, A, & C. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OZlpVe8EwU

I probably should have added that this man, has 3 Ph.d's, but he explains everything in everyday language, he has a lot of other videos, I will only post this link.
I mention his education, because he is smart, he was working in a hospital at the age of 14.

I got some supplements for the whole family. I just about burn watching fireworks so if I am out in summer I need sunscreen.
Lockdown here extended for another 3 weeks. Not sure whether I will be admitted to a locked psychiatric ward or admitted for rehab by the end of this.
We are trying to turn the exhibition centre into a 1000 bed hospital while still keeping community services running and getting new community testing hubs up and running.

I'm so glad you gotten supplements.
You have really sensitive skin, sunscreen is a good idea.
We are locked down until I think the end of May, every time I tune the news on, they are saying something different.
On the news the people Michigan (US) are protesting the lock downs with traffic grids, and signs on cars.
I do hope you get the "admitted for rehab".

They said “at least another three weeks” but were heavy in the “at least” so I think it will be extended beyond 9th May.
I understand people are frustrated, I think we are all demented but there isn’t any other choice.
