That is fascinating, absolutely fascinating.
Horrifying in its implications, but quite beautiful at the cellular level.
Do we have enough of the substance to test against other cell types? I would like to get enough data for a full computer model of the conversion process.
We need to understand exactly what changes are made and how if we have any hope of disrupting it never mind reversing it. I don’t know if reversing it will be possible, but we may be able to find a way to protect our people from future infection.

Sharrel, what are we looking at? In terms of Adams health? His being a potential threat? And what about this drej substance can it some how connect to Adam? or activate him? or even being a possible beacon for the drej and their return?

I would say this substance is a risk to anyone’s health. Well organic humanoid health.
I need to look at the scans and we need to do a lot of work to determin what this is and how it works.

Dr, Adam shows no sign of mutation? you recovered this substance from his lungs? Is there any evidence of immune response? Was it dormant or is he somehow immune?
The fact that it was in his lungs suggests it could be an airborne pathogen

Yes, from his lungs Doctor. (retrieves the scans for her to go over) And it was dormant when I retrieved it.
The Lieutenant shows no sign of mutation. And there is no evidence of immunity. Dr. Eiluned, the Lieutenant claims to have been abducted. I believe the Drej, during his incarceration, used some method of delivering this substance into his system to gain his cooperation. They abducted his wife, so he claims, obviously to get to him. Then after doing so, they probably threatened to turn him into a Drej with this "gunk" if you will because he wasn't willing to give them what they wanted.
And I believe they extracted this substance once they realized he wasn't going to help them. They also must have had a way of neutralizing it so if we were able to reclaim him, it wouldn't show up as evidence. Quite clever I must say. But someone botched the extraction and left some of the neutralized substance behind.

OOC Power outage and lost my post, its never the same twice. Thank you Major. Sarrin, the Major will be bringing over some contained drej substance, he is free to land, and please let me know when he has arrived. Sits on the bio bed thinking, will be easy ? maybe ? maybe not? to store the drej substance, but what about Adam, they can't store him, Sharrel did mention transporting Adam, and how will Adam fair ? Will they ever find his wife? Can they use this drej substance to experiment with and enhance Solaris against the drej ? But where will they experiment with this stuff ? The most obvious is to use the Stargate system, and set up a camp somewhere, and she wants to get back to Solaris, this vacation, (shakes her head), has seemed more like a mission. They did get some badly needed supplies for The Drifter, and very grateful for that, she is also grateful for the Cantor for helping with the Talusians, she wants to go back to her quarters and have a bath, even better, crash in her quarters on The Drifter and go for a swim when she wakes up, that would be something, even if The Drifter is docked at Solaris.
They did meet up with Reny, and that is good, if he is willing he might join the Stargate team, and what about Oliver, he wonders what Oliver has planned for himself, he seems to have found himself, and what happened on Azcad?
Drifter, ( petting the bird on her shoulder), when we get back to Solaris, we'll have to talk to Engineering, if you truly want a body, but I am hesitant because you would be stuck in that body, but a body could be temporary while holo emitters are being installed around the station, it was started some time ago in the medical bays. Sharrel, what do you suggest as the best course of action for Adam? |

Did the extract it to hide evidence or leave it and return him with the intent of activating it? I know that sounds paranoid but I am afraid plan for the worst has become my default. I suppose we can hope for the best.
I wonder how much of the human personality remains after conversion, it may be they were waiting and hoping that we would make the trade they wanted.
Adam has served faithfully for years, I don’t see how we can do anything but take him back to Solaris and monitor him. I am sure he will want to search for his wife but we do not even know where to start looking. Obviously his security clearance must remain suspended and his access to Solaris system restricted but I am sure he will understand.

Point taken Doctor, but I have the suspicion that this plan of theirs, whatever it entailed, did not come off as they had hoped.
I would also like to suggest careful and EXTREME monitoring him when you return to Solaris Captain.
I still believe he is not a liability, but I do believe that with suspending his duties until further notice will come some withdrawal pains. Pains from yearning for and searching for his wife. I can guarantee that is first and foremost on his mind. If he can't search for her with the resources of Solaris at his disposal, he may act out. Not to harm anyone, but to find a way to continue that search. And unfortunately, may result in hurting someone. Please be careful.

(The monitor he is wearing shows his stress levels going through the roof. The thought of losing Daphne forever is putting him over the edge. He faints and hits the floor)

Actually, maybe this is better, these are my thoughts,
Sharrel do you think Sin would help?
I was thinking either transport - I'm not sure if this is best or to fly Adam over to the Demon Hawk, I'll leave that up to you,
Maybe you can take some drej samples with you to the Demon Hawk? You would join Adam, and fly about the system, keeping ahead of the drej, and / or scanning for drej signatures, but also scanning for his wife, and the system for Stargates, I'm sure Adam will co-operate with that, and any test you want to perform, you can do some testing on drej samples.
While you are flying around the system with Sin and Adam, I'm going to find a location to drop various portions of drej samples for safe keeping and security, and head to Chai to scan it. It being the planet, and for a stargate, then I'm heading back to Solaris.
I've given the Major clearance to head to Chai, for a day or two to scan for information, after I have returned to Solaris to brief him, I believe you are aware of what he wants on Chai. He can bring supplies to set up a camp, a mini lab, and medical set up for Adam, hold that thought, while we also test the stargate, as I believe at this moment there is one, but won't know until I scan the planet.
Once a Stargate is confirmed we can use that for future travel or communications, and / or supplies.
After Sin takes a brief tour around the system, looking for his wife, let Adam know that you need to perform some other medical testing, and then you can head to Chai and meet the Major there.

We can transfer to the Demon Hawk, setting up a lab on Chai However would not be responsible until we know if it is inhabited, claimed or used by anyone.
We don’t know what life exists or could exist there in the future. I don’t mind taking Adam there but setting up a lab wouldn’t sit well.
I need to talk with Sin before we beam over. If we do find his wife Adam might not be willing to back off until we can call in reinforcements.
