Interesting. So this Oliver fellow is indeed involved whether he wants to be or not. So this Braxxul I've heard a bit about may have something to do with this after all.

Oliver is an Azcadian, and he has a history with Braxxul.
Braxxul, killed most of the population of Azcad, he actually thought he killed them all. Oliver, if I remember correctly, Oliver was off world at the time, and when he returned to Azcad...
Well, I don't need to tell you what he found, he thought he was the last living Azcad.
As it also turns out, Braxxul stole some of the minerals from Azcad.
Oliver eventually left Azcad, and we connected with him and some how Braxxul found out Oliver was still alive. Not specifically him, but an Azcadian was still alive.
Braxxul eventually tracked Oliver down, he was off station and on a planet, caught him, tortured him and Oliver escaped, since then Braxxul has been obsessed with Oliver.
Yes, Oliver is involved whether he wants to be or not.

Captain, I was going to make a suggestion, but with what I've heard....I'm not sure its a good idea now. He sounds like a very dangerous adversary as I suspect your Oliver has found out.  |

Well this may sound off the charts, but I'd like to, along with some of your Security staff if you can spare them, venture to Braxxul's planet, and demand an audience with him. Speak to the alien himself and see what I can find out about his plans for that Doorway would have been if it hadn't been destroyed.
It might give us an idea whether more of the same is being planned.
And want to stop any more Doorway's from another dimension from opening.

Mmm, that is an idea.
Thinks on it a minute.
Its a bold idea, and I like it, however, I would pick a neutral place to meet, I wouldn't trust him on his home turf, and I am sure he will pull something, even if its to hold you hostage at the minimum.
It is my understanding that he wants to either take over Solaris for its ancient technology or if he can't have it, he would rather destroy it.

Alright. Keep an open mind with this....
We lure Braxxul to this neutral location you suggested with the idea that I am an enemy of Solaris and that knowing his reputation, I want to enlist his help in taking Solaris as revenge for my Fathers death. That I hold everyone here, especially you responsible and that you should be made to pay for my loss.
I think this scenario would likely intrigue the alien to me more receptive to meeting and discussing the matter.
How does this sound so far?

Captain, with the creation of this Doorway, Braxxul, if he did so, is interested in getting access to other Dimensions. What if I show him how to find those doorways into other dimensions without him building his own access to them?
It looks like I am losing with this idea. But hear me out.

I understand Captain. I really do. But if...
If I can get him to admit it was his Doorway that was accessing the Dimensional Drift, I could offer him the device I have in the Shiree. The one I use to detect the Drifts. He could use it to bring Solaris...and you to your knees. Pardon my wording ma'am.
But the exception would be that I retrieve one of the ones I've built for your ships. But give it to him after I disable it so it doesn't function correctly.
If I can convince him that it will help him find those Drifts into other Dimensions, maybe we could keep him busy looking for a Drift to the point he may think there are none to be found.
With the Shiree and the other 2 Solaris ships equipped with the working device, we could keep a check on Braxxul and his future Dimensional discoveries.
(He can see the hesitation in her face as she tries to decide to tangle with Braxxul yet again)

I really like the idea that this could put an end to Braxxul, he is a conflict that has brought a lot of suffering to a lot of people.
I can't decide on the spot about this, its huge, its dangerous, and ultimately I can't put Solaris at risk. I'm feeling a lot of conflicting emotions and thoughts, I am responsible for every single life on Solaris and I take that responsibility personally.
I need to think on this.

I would expect you to consider long and hard on this Captain. Your people have come to rely on you and I can see that does take a toll on a person. Take as long as you need. We could possibly come up with another idea if we give it some thought. But honestly, I do believe this is our best bet to end his fascination with Dimensional travel. Ultimately, I will abide by your decision. Would it be possible to get a set of quarters and take some time to relax?  I think I am starting to feel the need for it after that incident with the Doorway.  |

Of course, you are welcome to move into some quarters. If you go to the Quarters deck, ask the computer to guide you, or take Ia with you, and you have many options to choose from. Let the computer or Ia know what you are looking for, some like a one room others like a second or a third for a den or study or a weight room. The computer will guide you to what is free, authorize you on it and there you have your quarters, and each has a replicator capable of producing anything need.
I do need to think on this.
